3 year old Jonathan...
conducting to the 4th movement of Beethoven's 5th Symphony
Posted on 2/20/2011 at

Arts, Drama, Music (Teachers) Group:
Dear Colleagues,
You want Music... You want Life... You want Joy...
How about Music, Life, and Joy...
This is one of the best videos I have every seen...
This is one of the best Educational Videos I have ever seen...
Go there, be there as soon as possible:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0REJ-lCGiKU
Only 8 million viewers so far, agree...
It was the classic French Author, Alphonse Daudet, who simply stated, "Music is another Planet." :-)
And I will simply state that "That Planet is also Here."
Art Projects;
1.Get a suitable small stick or ruler etc to use as a baton to conduct a recorded piece of music you like...
It can be any style of music: classical, contemporary, from different countries, etc.
If you stand in front of a mirror, you can see what you look like when you are 'conducting'...
And for more fun, have someone or yourself make a music video of your "performance" and share it ...
2. An alternative option is to mime playing various instruments during a music recording you like.
This can be rock and roll, jazz, classical, whatever...
3. Listen to some favorite music and make a drawing that fits your mood...
4. Select or create a music background or soundtrack to combine with a computer slide show.
If you like the results, upload it to youtube or share it as a class project, etc.
5. Listen to some instrumental music and write whatever you like: a list of words, a poem, a letter or email, etc.
